If there’s one thing Democrats really can’t stand, it’s Republican-controlled states that are thriving. They prove to America that the left’s policies don’t work. And no other state is chaffing the left’s hide more than red Florida. Gov. DeSantis has scored one win after another for Floridians. He’s just come up with a plan that will not only help the state, but has outraged liberals.
It’s no secret that Republican states aren’t getting along with the federal government. The Biden administration is ignoring their pleas for help. In fact, Biden even took away life-saving treatment from Florida’s sick. Clearly, DeSantis does not want to depend on Biden when the chips are down. So, he has a brilliant new idea.
From The Hill:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday proposed reestablishing a World War II-era civilian-military force that he would control.
DeSantis pitched the idea of creating the Florida State Guard, which would be independent of federal control, while speaking about his military budget proposal.
The Guard would consist of 200 volunteer civilians “trained in the best emergency response techniques” that would aid in the event of natural disasters or other state emergencies, according to a press release.
Democrats are freaking out because Gov. DeSantis wants a civilian-comprised “State Guard.” This group of 200 volunteers would provide “emergency response” for the state, independent of federal government control. According to the report, this group would answer to the governor, but not provide law enforcement or military action.
Not that Democrats are interested in looking at the facts. They appear to be stuck on the fact that this group would be led by the governor. It seems the left only likes a National Guard, which is ultimately manipulated by the D.C. swamp. Although state governors can activate the National Guard, it is funded and controlled by the federal government.

Do Democrats think the governor is trying to build his own army? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what they’re tweeting right now. What might elude their notice is that Americans can form their own militias, if necessary, as laid out in the Second Amendment.
Americans have the right to protect themselves if they so choose, which is a bigger threat to totalitarian government than a state guard.
(Which is why Democrats fight so hard to take our guns away.)
This move just might be a stroke of genius. DeSantis is looking at ways to free Florida from the White House’s thumb. Other states just might follow.
