BREAKING: Biden Admin Sued By 13 State AG’s Over Relief Bill Tax Rule

The Biden administration has been sued by 13 State Attorney Generals arguing a provision in the relief bill is unconstitutional.

The lawsuit calls component in relief bill prohibiting states from using federal aid to offset tax cuts “one of the most egregious power grabs by the federal government in the history of the United States.”

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said in a statement “never before has the federal government attempted such a complete takeover of state finances. The Constitution envisions co-sovereign states, not a federal government that forces state legislatures to forfeit one of their core constitutional functions in exchange for a large check equal to approximately 25 percent of their annual respective general budgets.”

Other state AGs who joined him include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah.

Florida AG Ashley Moody tweeted:

The federal government is trying to tell Florida we cannot lower your taxes. This is simply outrageous & a gross power grab by our federal government.

That’s why I’m taking legal action against @POTUS @JoeBiden to end this heavy-handed federal overreach.
