Democrat Election Map Thrown Out by State Supreme Court – Then They Replace It with GOP Map In Wisconsin

We all know that the 2022 midterms will most likely be a bloodbath for Democrats all over the country. Signs suggest that Americans will rush to the polls to vote Democrats out, after all the chaos they’ve triggered.

Democrats, for their part, are doing nothing to win back voters. Instead, they are scheming to prevent losing as many seats as possible at the state level.

That was the case in Wisconsin. But the state’s electoral map was taken to the courts. And Dems lost.

From Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court embraced a redistricting plan crafted by Republican state lawmakers Friday, three weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court threw out election maps drawn by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers…

The new maps tilt heavily in Republicans’ favor, with 63 of the 99 Assembly seats and 23 of the 33 Senate seats leaning toward the GOP, according to a December analysis by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The U.S. Supreme Court threw out a congressional map drawn by Wisconsin’s liberal governor weeks ago. This gave Republicans an opportunity to draw their own map, which was challenged in court

But the Wisconsin Supreme Court approved this new plan, to the outrage of the left.

This new map gives Republicans possible gains in the state and Congress. Because the election and primaries are so soon, Democrats will not be able to challenge this map until after the election.

Federal law prevents election maps from favoring a race or political party. This is why the Supreme Court threw out Gov. Evers’ map, which clearly was trying to aid Democrats.

Just because the accepted map might favor Republicans doesn’t mean it was drawn to favor one group or party. And on those grounds, the state Supreme Court upheld it.

This, of course, is a blow to Wisconsin, which Democrats consider a swing or blue state. But with Republicans gaining an upper hand in the next election, all of that can change.

This pattern is being repeated in many parts of the country. The 2020 Census revealed that so many Americans fled blue states, that they lost seats in Congress.

Meanwhile, conservative states like Texas picked up seats, increasing a possible GOP majority in Congress.
