President Biden doesn’t have much to brag about in the present, and he’s failing to paint any picture of hope for the future. The only ammunition he has left is to get Americans to focus on the past.
So when Trump tried to exercise executive privilege over his private conversations during January 6th, Biden’s White House would not support him. Instead, he allowed the documents to be handed over.
But that wasn’t the last word. Biden got challenged in the courts, and now it’s going all the way up to the Supreme Court.
From The Washington Free Beacon, via Reuters:
Former President Donald Trump on Thursday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to block the release of White House records sought by the House of Representatives committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Trump‘s request came two weeks after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the former president had no basis to challenge Democratic President Joe Biden’s decision to allow the documents to be handed over. That decision will remain on hold until the Supreme Court acts.
It looks like Trump’s fate is in the Supreme Court’s hands. Instead of being a gentleman and helping America move on from the terrible incident, Biden is pressing for Trump’s conversations to go public.
Whether or not there is anything disparaging or incriminating in those documents, many Americans believe that’s not the point. They have seen what the left-wing mainstream media can do to misconstrue and twist anything they get their hands on.
No one is sure how the Supreme Court will act, as it is legally unclear whether a former President can block public release of critical documents, especially relating to such a touchy subject.

They may not even accept Trump’s request, which would probably be the end of the line of his attempt to keep them private. If they do take it up, Trump would probably have a good chance with the conservative-leaning 6-3 Supreme Court.
They may construe aggressiveness on the part of Democrats to get a hold of these documents as a partisan move to get the upper hand in future elections. They may also want to close the book on such a divisive day in American history.
As soon as the Supreme Court responds to this requests, we will update America of their decision.
