It was likely no surprise to see former President George W. Bush in the lead up to the twentieth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
However, what Bush said came as a surprise to some.
Now George W. Bush has himself back in the headlines and Donald Trump had a few choice words for him.
During a September 11 anniversary event, former President George W. Bush crossed a line that has many seeing red, including Donald Trump.
Former President Bush spoke at an event in Shanksville Pennsylvania commemorating the 20th anniversary of the day Flight 93 passengers heroically tried to thwart a terrorist plan to fly their plane into the U.S. Capitol or the White House.
It was a somber day, and given the most recent events in Afghanistan, many had mixed feelings about the event.
George W. Bush took the opportunity to show his true colors and attack Americans who support former President Donald Trump equating them to the hijackers.
Bush called them, “violent extremists.”
“We have seen growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders. But from violence that gathers within. There’s little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home. But in their disdain for pluralism. In their disregard for human life. In their determination to defile national symbols. They are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them,” the former president said.
Of course, former President Donald Trump is not known for backing away from a fight and if it involves his loyal supporters, he is sure to speak up.
Trump released a statement in response to Bush’s comments that read in part, “So interesting to watch former President Bush, who is responsible for getting us into the quicksand of the Middle East (and then not winning!), as he lectures us that terrorists on the ‘right’ are a bigger problem than those from foreign countries that hate America, and that are pouring into our Country right now.”
The attack on Trump and his supporters shows where George W. Bush’s loyalties really lie.
“The World Trade Center came down during his watch. Bush led a failed and uninspiring Presidency. He shouldn’t be lecturing anybody!” Trump concluded.

All George W. Bush did with his speech was remind Americans that he failed.
One would think by now the establishment Right would know better than to attack Trump supporters.
Donald Trump is loved by many because he stands up for his people.
That type of loyalty is something George W. Bush will never understand.
