“Most Un-Texan Thing To Do” – Gov Greg Abbott RESPONDS To Democrats Fleeing The State Of Texas

Last night Governor Greg Abbott was on with Laura Ingraham to respond to Texas Democrats fleeing the state to prevent Republicans from passing new election laws:

TRENDING : BREAKING: Larry Elder Is Running For Governor Of California ALSO NEW POLL

Abbott says Texans aren’t quitters, but that’s exactly what Texas Democrats are doing by leaving the state, which is why he says their fleeing of the state to prevent a special session is the most un-Texan thing they could do. However, he also notes that he will continue calling these 30-day special sessions over and over, which he has the power to do, until this is resolved.

Abbott also says their whole argument about the election bill is dead wrong:

The thesis that they are operating under is completely false because what the Texas law does doesn’t hinder anybody’s ability to vote. In fact, interestingly, what Texas is seeking to do is add additional hours to vote. Texas has 12 days of early voting and the hours of which will be expanded and we will ensure that hours are expanded on election day also. So their entire thesis is completely wrong.

What’s also interesting is that in the video, Ingraham shows one of the Texas Democrats on the bus telling MSNBC that they are heading to DC because they are angry that Senate Republicans in DC are using the filibuster to prevent Democrats from passing their own federal election bill. So…these Texas Democrats, who just fled the state in order to obstruct their own legislature, are fed up with Senate Republicans in DC who they claim are ‘obstructing’???

These people are so ridiculous it’s not even funny. Senate Republicans are simply refusing to vote for Democratic election bills because they are horrible. They are exercising their right to vote against cloture via the rules of the Senate, which Democrats lack the power to change. Senate Republicans are abiding by long standing rules, unlike Texas Democrats, who are actually breaking the rules and violating their constitutional duty in order to obstruct their counterparts in Texas.
