A new Rasmussen poll has found very weak support for “defunding the police” and the majority (52%) who responded think America needs to spend more on police, not less.
Only 18% feel less should be spent on the police and 23% think the current funding is about right.
66% agreed with the statement “The radical and reckless decisions by some jurisdictions to defund their police forces have had a real and devastating effect on American communities.”
Last year, AOC said in a statement “Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so that the exact same police remain in schools.”
