Schiff Issues Statement After Being Selected By Pelosi To Be On The January 6th Committee

Thursday, Rep. Adam Schiff issued a statement after being selected by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be one of eight on the newly formed January 6th committee.

Schiff tweeted:

On January 6, our democracy survived its greatest threat since the Civil War.

We’ve yet to learn the truth of that sad day.

But we will have a full accounting.

I’m humbled to serve on the January 6 Select Committee. It’s time to get to work.

Wednesday, Schiff had tweeted:

We gave the GOP every chance to work on a bipartisan commission to investigate January 6.

They said no. Over and over and over again.

So is anyone really surprised that Republicans are – yet again – trying to bury the truth about the insurrection?

Enough. We have work to do.

Other members of the committee are chairperson Rep. Bennie Thompson.

Other members are: Reps. Zoe Lofgren, the chair of House Administration Committee; Adam Schiff, chair of the Intelligence Committee, as well as Reps. Pete Aguilar of California, Stephanie Murphy of Florida, Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Elaine Luria of Virginia.
