George Soros group “Open Society Foundation” has pledged $20 million to rally support for Biden’s infrastructure plan.
The $20 million pledge is to help jumpstart as much as $100 million in support of Biden’s agenda.
Hans Nichols of Axios reports support from Soros may be a “call to action” for progressive activists who want to see Biden “go bigger.”
Leah Hunt-Hendrix, c-founder of progressive donor network Way to Win said “we hope this effort on the part of organizers and donors will give the Biden administration and Congress the assurance that they need to go as big, bold and fast as possible.”
Tom Perriello, the executive director of the U.S. branch of the organization said “Every initiative proposed by President Biden has broad public support but we’ve seen popular reforms get demonized before by partisans and special interests, and we are not going to let that happen.”
“Facts don’t always win without some real muscle put behind getting those facts in front of the American people,” he added.
AOC recently suggested 2 trillion is not enough and Biden should go bigger.

“If we could wave a magic wand, and progressives in the House were able to name any number and get it through — which obviously isn’t the case, but if we’re looking at ideals … we’re talking about, realistically, $10 trillion over 10 years,” AOC argued while appearing on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow.
